The ACO audit our Company to ensure the Australian organic standard for honey is complied with. Organic certification specifies the source of the nectar, foraging area, apiary management, honey-extracting process, transportation, processing temperature and packaging materials. Barnes Naturals works with the ACO to ensure all of these aspects meet Organic Certification standards with regular audits.

The term organic can refer to products produced in natural environments. However, when you pick up a ‘Certified Organic’ product you can be sure the product contains produce that has been audited by an independent third party that guarantees the integrity and purity of the product, and ensures it complies with global Certified Organic standards. In Australia, the governing body we are audited by is Australian Certified Organic (ACO). For our honey to be labelled as certified organic, it must be sourced solely from organic certified beekeepers and packaged according to organic standards.
